Winona Health Psychiatric & Counseling Services is offering free, confidential depression screenings on Thursday, October 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in suite 200 of the Parkview Office Building on the Winona Health campus in Winona.
"One out of every five adults may experience depression at some point in their lives," said Betsy Rowekamp, Winona Health certified psychiatric registered nurse. "We want people to know that help is available and that they can feel better."
Common symptoms of depression include any of the following:
• A persistent feeling of sadness
• Loss of pleasure in usually enjoyable activities
• Feeling of hopelessness, helplessness and worthlessness
• Changes in sleep patterns and appetite
• Loss of energy
• Restlessness
• Thoughts of death or suicide
